All around the web you'll hear a lot about putting the user first. Progressive Enhancement and graceful degradation are two methods we've decided on to tackle this. Which one to use has created a divide in how a site or app should be built. In this talk, we'll explore the differences between the two and when they should be used, with a focus on using Javascript to apply progressive enhancement to your websites. This will be done with an empathy-first approach by arguing for a user's potentially sticky situation being at the forefront of development.
